Frequently Asked Questions - Reader Services

sign reading closed Several of the Information Stations will be closed or have limited hours during school Summer vacation.  They will resume regular operating hours once school is back in session. If you normally use an information station, please note these changes for the Summer.

Stations closed for the Summer:

If your information station closes for the Summer please return any checked out items before the end of the school year. You will also need to select a different information station or full service hometown library for pick-up when placing requests during the Summer.  If the following Information Stations are selected, the request will be saved and available when school starts in the Fall.

  • Asher Information Station
  • Lexington Information Station
  • Macomb Information Station
  • Maud Information Station
  • Wanette Information Station

Stations open limited hours:

  • Byars Information Station – Mondays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am  for June 6 to July 18 (Summer Reading Programs at 10:30 am)
  • Dibble Information Station– Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Station open normal hours:

  • Little Axe Information Station – Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (Summer Reading Programs Thursday mornings at 10:30 am in June & July)


With volunteers trained by PLS, the Information Stations offer rural residents several of the same library conveniences found in the hometown libraries. This includes:

  • PLS materials delivered weekly to the Information Stations (weather permitting)
  • Online access to the PLS subscription databases, such as OverDrive, Brainfuse and Mango Languages
  • Ability to take advantage of all PLS services at the hometown libraries
