Moore Staff are Bookin' It for Life

Staff from the Moore Public Library are participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Information on Moore 's 2012 Relay for Life, held on June 1st at Buck Thomas Park, will be available online.
So why is Moore Library staff relaying? Their team page, Bookin' It Towards A Cure, explains:
We are making a difference by teaming up to participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.
At the event, our team will camp out overnight and take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

Sign up begins Feb. 27 for Moore's March computer classes

The Moore Public Library has announced its schedule for free public computer classes for March.
Class registration will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, and may be completed at the library, by calling 793-4349 or online under the Events Calendar . Separate registration is required for each class.

Repurpose some of your old fashions at Moore craft program

The Moore Public Library is providing a chance to turn something old into something new, with a Repurposed Fashion program, set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, in Room A of the library, 225 S. Howard Ave.
The program is for ages 18 and up, and each participant is asked to start their “Do It Yourself” project by bringing an old t-shirt or two and an old sweater that will be “repurposed” to new items.

Moore hosts Fancy Nancy Tea Party

It’s not every day a trip to the library means time to get dolled up.
But in this case, it is.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Moore Public Library hosts a Fancy Nancy Tea Party at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in Rooms A and B of the library, 225 S. Howard Ave.

February is the national annual observance of Black History Month, a time to recognize achievements, contributions, and culture of African-Americans.
In honor and celebration of this national observance, the Moore Public Library will host its fifth annual Gospel Brunch at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the library, 225 S. Howard Ave.
The event is free but reservations are required, as space is limited.
