Moore, OU Confucius Institute to partner on family story times
Last Updated on Thursday, 01 November 2012 09:13
The Moore Public Library and the University of Oklahoma Confucius Institute are partnering on a pair of family-oriented story times titled “Chinese Storytelling with Cartoons.”
The programs will take place on successive Saturdays, Nov. 10 and 17, at 11 a.m. in the Story Time Room of the library, 225 S. Howard Ave.
Cartoonist James Yang will lead the story time, utilizing his own Chinese style comic illustration to accompany each storytelling journey and explore the most popular Chinese idioms, fairy tales, folklores and anecdotes of famous Chinese historical figures.
The University of Oklahoma Confucius Institute endeavors to build strong relations between the people of the South Central U.S. and the people of China, enhancing understanding and mutual respect. It is a partnership established in 2006 between Beijing Normal University and OU.
