Get ready for tornado season with informational program in Moore
Severe weather season is right around the corner in Oklahoma, and the Moore Public Library is presenting a program on safety tips and how local experts prepare for the springtime wave of weather.
“Tornado Season in Oklahoma” takes place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, in Rooms A and B of the library, 225 S. Howard Ave.
Presenters will be Moore Emergency Manager Gayland Kitch and Rick Smith, Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
They will discuss such topics as storm spotter operations, observing weather and how to keep family members safe during tornado season. Weather junkies or just people interested in learning more about the tracking and preparation for spring storm season will be interested in attending.
The program is for ages 18 and up, and registration is advance is required to attend.
