Last week, the children of Moore were invited to attend a five day chess camp to help lighten the mood after the storms. The instructors and the kids all had a great time working together, bonding, and inventing their very own chess variant called "Super Bughouse," which incorporates teamwork, communication, and leadership.
PLS would like to give a big thank you to the chess instructors for coming out to Moore, Shannon Harris and the youth programming department at the Moore Public Library for arranging it, and Kelley Elementary for allowing them to use their media center for the camp.
If your child would like to learn chess or continue to hone their skills, consider signing them up for a free chess.com account where they can play real people from all of the world. They can also add friends by user name, such as Coach Victor who goes by "VictorLopez" and Coach Doug who goes by "ElTigre90".
