Young readers are invited to read to the Newcastle Public Library’s four-legged friend Snuffie two days a week throughout July.
Snuffie the therapy dog will be at the library from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursdays, except for July 4 when the library is closed.
Parents or caregivers should call the library to schedule 15-minute sessions for their child age 4-10 to read to Snuffie in a non-threatening environment. The goal is to help them build their confidence in their reading.
To register for a timeslot, visit the library or call 387-5076.
