Read to Snuffie in Newcastle
Last Updated on Tuesday, 04 December 2012 09:40
Young readers are invited to read to the Newcastle Public Library’s four-legged friend Snuffie most Tuesday afternoons beginning at 2 p.m. at the library, 705 NW 10th St.
Terri Lovell, a longtime library volunteer and now a Library Assistant on the Newcastle staff, is Snuffie’s handler and leads each session.
Parents or caregivers should call the library to schedule 15-minute sessions for their child age 4-10 to read to Snuffie in a non-threatening environment. The goal is to help them build their confidence in their reading.
To register for a timeslot, visit the library or call 387-5076.
Snuffie will be at the library each Tuesday through the rest of October, all of November and December through Dec. 18.
