Newcastle Teen Book Club looks at “The Boy Who Dared”

What would it be like as young person in Nazi Germany, jailed for disagreeing with the government?
The Newcastle Public Library’s Teen Book Club takes on that question as it looks at the book “The Boy Who Dared,” by Susan Bartoletti, at its monthly meeting, 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the library, 705 NW 10th St.
The book looks at the true story of Helmuth Hubener, the youngest person ever sentenced to die by the Nazi leadership. It looks back at his choices in life that got him to that point.
In addition to discussion, the group also will take part in a craft relating to the book and enjoy refreshments courtesy the Friends of the Newcastle Library.
Registration is not required to attend the group.
