Start the new year with some discussion in Newcastle book clubs

The Newcastle Public Library has a discussion for all ages through its four book discussion groups, each of which will meet to start the new year in January.

Topics for this month’s talks are:

Brown Bag Book Discussion Group, 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 – Ages 18 and up are invited to join on a topic to be announced. Attendees are invited to bring a sack lunch and enjoy snacks provided by the Friends of the Newcastle Library.

Teen Book Club, 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9 – Teens will take part in discussion and a related craft on the book “The Girl of Fire and Thorns” by Rae Carson. The group meets monthly throughout the school year for ages 13-18.

Tween Book Club, 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9 – Ages 9 to 12 have the chance for their own monthly discussion and related craft project as well. Their book for this month is “Kid Lawyer” by John Grisham. The group also will be provided snacks courtesy the Friends of the Newcastle Library.

Forever Young Book Club, 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 – “Code Name Verity” by Elizabeth Wein. The group is for adults who enjoy reading young adult genre books.
