Teens can make their voices heard at upcoming programs in Norman

Teen signThe teens are talking, and the Norman Public Library is listening. The library offers a pair of upcoming programs where teens’ opinions will direct what happens.

Votes are being taken now for “You Pick It Movie Night,” with the movie starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 22 in the Lowry Room of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.

Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. for the special after-hours program. Votes are being taken in the Teen Area of the library. Those who attend will enjoy popcorn and a drink courtesy the Friends of the Norman Library.

Teens can return to the library for the “Battle for the Books” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25.

This afternoon will feature local librarians debating about their favorite books, with attending teens able to vote for the winners on who made their book’s case the best.

The events are part of this year’s “Beneath the Surface” Summer Reading Program schedule for teens.
