Norman staff to show off favorite books in Readers' Extravaganza

The Norman Public Library celebrates the joy of reading with its seventh Readers' Extravaganza Book Festival, set for 6 p.m. Thursday, June 5 in the Lowry Room of the library.

The event is geared toward either teens or adults and is a mini-book festival offering many ideas to connect readers with good reads for the summer.

The Readers Extravaganza features presentations by many staff librarians, who will show off books and DVDs in their favorite genres. Participants can discover what's new, what's coming soon, and what's getting a lot of book buzz as librarians talk about their favorite books, both old and new.

Also, there will be display tables featuring book lists, recommended reads and bookmarks. Librarians will be on hand for library card signup and to help guests check out their new finds.

Hors d’oeuvres and sweets will be served and door prizes will be given throughout the evening. Those selected for prizes must be present to win.

Registration is not required to attend.
