The second annual “Book Wars” return to the Norman Central Public Library, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, as part of the library’s Teen Summer Reading Program. The competition takes place in the Lowry Room of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.

The afternoon will feature back-and-forth “battles” between librarians as they defend their favorite books from this summer. A list of books that are part of the contest have been posted in the Teen Area throughout the summer.

Move to the music with Norman dance parties

It’s time to find those dancing shoes and get over to the Norman Public Library, for an afternoon and evening of music and dancing at the “Fizz Boom Read Dance Party,” offered at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Monday, July 28, in the Lowry Room of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.

It’s a chance for children to celebrate summer at the library with an energetic and exciting twist. Children of all ages are invited to attend and turn in their completed reading charts if they have finished them.

Norman announces free computer class schedule for June

The Norman Public Library has announced its schedule for free computer classes for June. Classes take place in the Computer Training Center of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.

Each class offers hands-on practice under the guidance of an instructor. Classes are all offered free of charge but space in the lab is limited, so registration is advance is requested to guarantee a seat in a class.
