Shawnee presents “Facebook for Beginners” class

Break into the world of social networking with the Shawnee Public Library’s free class “Facebook for Beginners,” at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, in the Computer Training Center of the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.

The class is for ages 18 and up and gives an introduction to the basics of the popular website Facebook, including an opportunity to create a free account.

Shawnee group gives the latest buzz on reading

The Shawnee Public Library's Book Buzz Brunch Bunch adult book discussion group hosts its next monthly book discussion at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in the Conference Room of the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.

Group members are invited to share their thoughts on what they have been reading during the informal book discussion group, which meets the third Friday of each month.

Fabulous Fiction Finds, November, 2014

Do you feel lucky?  If so, take a chance and fall into a good book displayed in our FFF nook.  It's a menagerie of authors and plots, so come in and explore.

Shawnee to host ESL class series

StudentsThe Pottawatomie County Literacy Services Department is beginning a series of English as a Second Language classes for new English speakers.

The classes will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Shawnee Public Library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.
