Tecumseh sets signup day for Summer Reading Program

The stars are coming out, even during the light of day, for the Tecumseh Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.
The library will get the Summer Reading Program started with a day of signups for Summer Reading, set for Thursday, May 31, at the library, 114 N. Broadway.
The Summer Reading Program runs in June and July and brings in separate themes and programming for all ages, truly providing a family setting with opportunities for young and young-at-heart library lovers alike.

Tecumseh hosts Business After Hours, ribbon cutting
The Tecumseh Public Library and the Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours and Ribbon Cutting to celebrate the remodel of the library from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at the library, 114 N. Broadway.
The library went through an extensive interior remodeling project in August and September of 2011. Among the upgrades were a new paint job, new upholstery and new carpeting throughout the facility. The building reopened in late September to positive reviews from cardholders throughout the community.

Teen T-shirt Weaving workshop set in Tecumseh
Help an old T-shirt find new life with a teen T-shirt Weaving program for teens at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at the Tecumseh Public Library, 114 N. Broadway.
Teens will have the chance to take an old shirt that they don’t want to wear anymore and weave it into something new and stylish to wear. Participants are asked to bring their own shirt, and other supplies will be provided by the library.

The Tecumseh Public Library continues its Toddler Story Time series at 11 a.m. Thursdays at the library 114 N. Broadway.
The weekly story time series includes songs, stories, and fingerplays for little people and their caregivers. It is geared for toddlers and preschool-age children.
