Whether it’s for a major repair or just a tuneup, car owners can find help for their wheels through the Pioneer Library System’s databases.
Car Repair 101, a program that looks at the library’s online automotive repair resources, will be offered 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, in the McLoud Public Library’s Milburn Room.
The program, for teens or adults, will look at Pioneer’s Auto Repair Reference Center database. It contains information on most major manufacturers of domestic and imported vehicles, with repair information for most vintage makes made as far back as 1945.
The course will be taught by a staff member from the Pioneer Library System’s Virtual Library.

Connecting future employees with jobs – that’s the goal for an upcoming program offered at the McLoud Public Library.
“Job Searching and Resume Building” looks at Job & Career Accelerator, available through Learn A Test, an online job search system. The database can be found under the “research databases” tab at the library’s Web site.
The workshop takes place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, in the library’s Milburn Room.

The McLoud Public Library hosts a program and luncheon on the topic “Hope for Small Businesses,” at noon Thursday, Aug. 12, in the Milburn Room of the library, 133 N. Main St.
The program will be presented by Dr. Barbara Rackley, coordinator of the Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc. Women’s Business Center. She will share information about the Women’s Business Center and REI during the event, which is the McLoud Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
The event is open to the public and free of charge. Lunch is a $5 donation.

The McLoud Public Library offers local residents tips for avoiding Identity Theft during a program at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at the library, 133 N. Main St.
The program is part of the Pioneer Library System’s Smart Investing @ Your Library series, which continues with several programs this fall.
The program for adults will provide an overview of common identity theft practices, tools for preventing identity theft and specific steps for victims of these kinds of crimes to take in order to minimize damage.
The class will be taught by Cody Buchholz of Tinker Federal Credit Union.
